Ethan “Sam” Rofman

Ethan “Sam” Rofman, M.D. is a semi-retired psychiatrist who studied piano as a child, tympani as a teenager and started playing accordion 20 years ago when he bought an instrument from a used furniture shop in Wellesley. He studied with Roberto Cassan and Sunniva Brynnel in Boston for over 15 years. In the past he attended the High School of Music and Art in New York and then went to Columbia College where he sang in and was president of the Glee Club. After medical school, also at Columbia, he came to Boston for residency training and jointed the Newton Symphony. He worked in private practice of psychiatry and a number of administrative positions the most recent of which was Service Line Director of Mental Health for the VA New England Healthcare system. He lives with his wife in Newton and has two children and two grandchildren.
